Join Mr Ian Robertson, Head of the Mathematics department, who will look at why students should study Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A Level. He will outline some of the numerous career paths that are available to a Mathematics graduate and just how rewarding and lucrative many of these can be. Mathematicians have helped solve some of the greatest challenges faced by humanity; ending wars, combating disease, tackling the important challenges of resources on our planet and understanding our Universe. They have helped to predict, regulate and secure our entire financial markets as well as the way our economies run. In Law and Medicine too, mathematics hold the key to success. Mr Robertson will also outline some ways that you can help your children to be good mathematicians.
